Thanks, Mom and Dad

Mom and Dad got us a brand new electric stove as a housewarming gift. We all (Mom, Dad, Kathy, Jimmy, Tyler, Ken and I) went to Lowes on Sunday the 23rd to buy it and they (Lowes) delivered it for free on Monday the 24th. They even took the old stove away, how great is that! The other stove was taller, so I am going to have to paint part of the wall just behind the stove. I have always used gas so I was pleasantly surprised how fast the burners got hot and how fast it cooled down.
Ken had to fix the stove plug before we could use it. That was a fire hazard so I am glad we never used the old stove.

This is a bird feeder that my brother Jimmy and his wife Kathy gave us along with a wonderful squirrel feeder (not pictured). They asked me what I wanted and this is what I told them. I don't think I could have too many bird and squirrel feeders! This beautiful bird feeder has a painted glass bowl. The squirrel feeder has to be put together (Thanks, Jimmy) so I might give it a try this weekend, otherwise I might be waiting 20 years for my husband to get around to it. VBG

My nephew, Tyler, gave me these dragons. He (his parents and grandparents put him up to this) put these three dragons in some old jean pockets that were removed from the pants. In doing so he created "pocket dragons"! lol I have collected Pocket Dragons for 20 some odd years until the artist, Real Musgrave, retired about 2 years ago. Tyler just wanted to add some more "pocket dragons" to my huge collection. Thank you Tyler for such a thoughtful gift. :-)
I probably won't be posting anything else until Monday. I will be moving a few more things from the old house and unpacking some stuff at the new house. I also will be spending a lot of time with the German Shepherds, they need one on one time with me and I with them. This move has been a big change for them also.
Have a great weekend everybody!!

We are finally moved in!!!

The kennel is done and we got the dogs moved out on the 22th, so Saturday evening was our first night there since we closed on the house in June. It was really wonderful. I have to at this point thank the lady that worked so hard to help us find and get this place, Wendy Welsh of Mariner Realty. If you are looking for a place north of Houston, Wendy and her people are who you need to contact. We told Wendy what we were looking for and within 2 months we were putting an offer in on a house. She helped us get into the house for less money than we expected, so we were able to make a couple of changes right away instead of having to wait. When she says she will find you the perfect house, you can take it to the bank. Check out Mariner Realty at marinerrealtyonline.com. Now comes the hard part of getting the Houston house ready to sell, along with unpacking stuff at the country house. I'm thinking we should be able to list the house with Mariner in about 2 and a half months. I can't wait to get it sold. :-) Anyway, check out the two pictures below of the kennel, all in all they turned out great.

Here are 5 outdoor runs. There are 5 more on the other side of the building. We are going to put down gravel in front of the runs and seed the rest of the yard.

This is a photo of the building with the fence surrounding the kennel. The dogs have two big yards to run in on either side of the building. They will also have 4 and a half acres to play in when we get fencing that needs to be put in on two sides of the property. That probably will take about 6 months to a year to get done. A little bit each month, that is the key to not going broke!!!! :-)
I will be posting more photos and thank yous tomorrow. Wait till you see the great housewarming gift my parents gave us.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel

Knock on wood the dog kennel should be done by Friday. The fence people have gotten the kennels up in the building and are now putting up the fence that surrounds the kennel. We should have the dogs out at the new place lock, stock and barrel this weekend!!!! This has been a long time coming, just over 2 months after closing on this beautiful house, we will be able to move in! I will have to do a meet the German Shepherds blog where I introduce my beautiful dogs.

One of the fence people working in the corner of the kennel building. Notice one of the two big fans that will keep the dogs cool.

Here are 5 completed kennels. The other 5 are on the other side of the building. Each kennel will have a comfortable dog bed.

Presenting CH Take No Prisoners of Edan. Kane just arrived from our friend Ann Schultz of Edan Kennels. He will be hitting the show ring this fall as a Special, which is a Champion competing for Best of Breeds.

These are 2 of the 3 hanging baskets that Ann sent down as a house warming present. They look great. I can't wait until I find the perfect plants to go in them.
I will be taking more pictures this weekend to put on the blog. Since school started back on the 13th, I have only been able to go to the house and get things done for the move on the weekend. I should have a lot to post about after Friday.
