I finally was allowed to get this walking cast off my foot. Now its like I am learning to walk normally again. The heel is still sore (and it is letting me know it) and the skin and muscles feel very tight, but that should change with the walking and stretching of the muscles. I am also using a very good lotion so the skin does not feel so dry and tight. I have another Drs. appointment on the 16th just to make sure the healing is still going smoothly and to set up the surgery for the left foot, probably on December 16th. It has just been a long, long 8 weeks for my husband and me. I will be very happy when this is over. Its been hard moving into a new house, clearing out the old house (and we are still probably 5 months away from putting it on the market) and having the surgery. I think Ken and I need a vacation! :-)
Happy Veterans Day Dad, Jimmy, Kathy and to all those who have proudly served our great country.

Assisted by Joan Burgess
I just love it, my Dad made a dresser for my husband's small walk in closet and he signed it and included Mom because she "assisted him" when he needed some help. The dresser is beautiful and fits in the closet nicely. Keeps the master bed room uncluttered. He is making one for my closet and hopefully it will be ready after Thanksgiving. Maybe he will let her sign my dresser in her beautiful handwritting. Thanks Dad and Mom for the Dresser!
Isn't this dresser just lovely. Love the wheels he added, makes it easier to move for cleaning.
Here is a picture of Mom aka Nana with Tyler my 5 year old nephew. She is telling him to show me how high he can jump.
And so he did. Mom and Dad gave Tyler this for his 5th birthday and boy does he love it.
Look at me, Look at me!!
This is a photo of my brother, dad and husband(on the tractor). Ken was showing is new baby off a couple weeks ago when they came over to the house.

Such a Nice Weekend
The weather was beautiful this weekend, it was sunny and cool and I loved it. On Saturday Ken put up my bookshelves in the office/sitting room. Now I can get some of my dog books unpacked. After that I will tidy up the computer and TV cables. I will also decide what photos will be going up on the walls and then the room will be finished! Saturday evening we sat out on the front porch with a glass of wine enjoying the beautiful evening and hoping for some trick or treaters. Unfortunately none came. :-( Most of the kids we have seen are 15 years and older and there are not that many of them. I guess it is kind of hard to trick or treat in the country where the homes are sitting on 5 to 200 acres. On Sunday we went out to my brother's house in Sealy. My mom and dad came in for the weekend and we went out to see them. It was just another relaxing day sitting on Jimmy's porch with mom, dad, Jimmy, Kathy and Kathy's mom. Of course my nephew Tyler was also there doing what 5 year old boys do.......getting into everything!!
